A little more clarity

Your questions, answered.

Can I purchase Virtual Phone without a paid plan?

Yes. Purchase Virtual Phone separately with a TAAX account; a paid office plan is not required. You can also use it alongside Free, Premium, Office Team or Tax Office Plus. Phone numbers and calling usage have separate charges.

Are calling minutes included in the number charge?

Calling usage is charged separately from the phone number. Review the available number, usage and optional service charges with the TAAX team before activating your setup.

What does the AI virtual attendant do?

The AI virtual attendant helps greet and handle incoming callers. Try the prepared example above to see it respond to Jason’s filing question. The public example does not make a live AI call.

How does round-robin calling differ from an extension?

Round-robin calling distributes incoming calls across a staff rotation. A department extension reaches a part of your office, while a staff extension identifies an individual team member. The example lets you choose each routing option before connecting the sample call.

Can I keep my current business number?

The platform supports bringing an existing business number. Ask our team to check your number’s eligibility and the steps required before making changes to your current provider.

Can more than one employee handle calls?

Yes. Use round-robin calling to distribute incoming calls across your staff, department extensions for different parts of the office and staff extensions for individual team members. Dashboard access remains separate and follows your selected plan.

What happens when nobody can answer?

Use voicemail and call history to review missed calls and decide who should follow up. The interactive example above lets you try a voicemail path as well as an answered call.

Are recording and transcription included with every plan?

Virtual Phone offers call recording and transcription. Virtual Phone can be purchased separately; review the applicable service and usage charges when setting it up.

Can I receive and make calls from both my desktop and the TAAX Pro app?

Yes. Business calls can ring on your desktop or in the TAAX Pro app, and you can make outbound business calls from either. Use the phone service configured for your account.

Can clients call from the customer app?

Yes. Clients can use your business number to call from the customer app. Your office can receive incoming calls and make outbound calls on your desktop or in the TAAX Pro app with the phone service configured for your account.
